The Grand Canyon National Game Preserve established in 1906 was designated as the Grand Canyon National Park by a Congressional Act in 1919.

The trailhead is known as Hualapai Hilltop. The site is located approximately six hours from Phoenix, three hours from Kingman, and a hour and half from Seligman.

Three major waterfalls await hikers who make their way down the canyon -- Navajo Falls, Havasu Falls and Mooney Falls.

Approximately 25,000 people a year make the trek to the village of Supai, which is located at the bottom of the canyon and near Havasu Creek.

Havasupai Canyon is located on the Havasupai Reservation. The population of Supai, located at the bottom of the canyon, is approximately 450 people.
